silence
(noun) [ˈsaɪ.ləns]
a period without any sound; complete quiet
According to the Cambridge dictionary, silence is a period without sound.
Seems about right. But should silence always be absolute silence?
Because complete silence isn't as heavenly as it sounds: it could be boring or even maddening. That's why we broadened the definition to a collection of personal stories. Silence is subjective and everyone has their own kind of quiet.
And that's what the project 'Collateral Silence' is about: it goes beyond the 0dB definition and beyond failed marketing strategies for noise-cancelling headphones.
Collateral Silence is about finding quiet in your favourite noise.
